I’m always excited about an organic brand that is affordable, accessible and good for my whole family. I don’t think this brand requires introduction but in case you’ve never seen it or even used it, Acure has become a well known loved organic brand among green beauty gurus and the like. It is certainly a staple brand in my beauty regime!
Over the past couple of months, I’ve slowly built a little arsenal of products for hair and face. After several uses, I can say I really like them. They perform very good and score exceptionally well in the EWG database, making them safe for my entire family. All products are vegan, gluten/paraben free and cruelty free. They also have a mean Instagram account that I highly recommend you check out… In one word: genius!
Let’s start with the shampoo and conditioner. I’ve tried a couple of different variations, but settled on the voluminous ones. First, they are made with mint and echinacea stem cells, both voluminous agents for your hair. You can feel it working on your scalp seconds after application. Second, if you are the type that suffers from dandruff, I surely recommend this for you as well. It has taken care of my flakiness like no other. Third, while it provides tons of volume, it also moisturizes with Argan oil and quinoa protein. My hair has transformed to a full bodied chunk-a-hair!
Price point: you can find it on sale often under $8 at Whole Foods! Regular price is just under $10 for 8 fl oz.
Another favorite is the Brightening Facial Scrub. This scrub is great for my sensitive skin; it is not too harsh and does not irritate at all. It contains sea kelp and French green clay to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. It also contains Argan oil to lock in moisture, so my face feel soft and supple. I typically use it while showering in the mornings. Price point: under $10 for 4 fl oz.
I pair the facial scrub with the Creme du Jour or Day Cream. This cream contains Gotu Kola stem cells as well as Chlorella. Gotu Kola improves skin’s elasticity, heals and repairs damaged skin and can also boost blood supply. Chlorella is known as a super-food, packed with potent antioxidants; it is also used to detoxify the skin from pollutants. This day cream absorbs quickly and has a very pleasant smell, like sweet oranges! I love how light and moisturized my face feels after using it. This is a great everyday moisturizer. Price point: under $17 for 1.7 fl oz.
The next two items are great for a mid-week boost for my face and neck.
The Pore Minimizing Red Clay Mask has helped me with blackheads! It’s great for soothing irritated skin, which is something I find myself having more of now with my aging skin. It definitely reduces the size of my pores, making my skin look younger. Price point: under $15 for 1.75 fl oz.
The Resurfacing Fruit Peel is actually the product I am most surprised with. I’ve always stayed away from peels because of their drying results. This peel, however, is not drying at all! First, it doesn’t fully dry on your skin so technically you cannot “peel” it off. Second it is made with pineapple enzymes, which are known as collagen boosting agents for dull skin. After a quick 5 minute wash, my skin is seriously glowing! Price point: under $23 (ouch!) for 1.4 fl oz. but well worth it!
I have a couple other products from the line I am interested in trying: the shaving cream and the dry shampoo for brunette hair (yasss! No more white powder I hope).
Are you in love with a particular line of organic/green products? What do you love about them? 😉
Until the next one~
